The Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Electronic Communications, Electronic Signature and Post is a body within the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. The task of the Inspectorate is to supervise the implementation of legislation governing electronic communications, electronic signature and post.
Our staff's mission is not only to enforce the relevant substantive and procedural regulations, but also to assist users in their activities related to our field of work. We supervise implementation of regulations and the organisation of conditions in this field.

Electronic communications
The Act governs the conditions for ensuring an electronic communications network and for the provision of electronic communications services, ensuring universal service, management of the radio frequency spectrum and the use of number space (numbering), it lays down the conditions for restrictions on ownership rights, defines the rights of users, governs the operation of networks and services in emergency situations, governs the protection of secrecy and confidentiality of electronic communications, governs the resolution of disputes among subjects in the electronic communications markets, governs the responsibilities and tasks of the Post and Electronic Communications Agency of the Republic of Slovenia as an independent regulative body as well as the powers of other bodies operating under this Act, and governs other issues relating to electronic communications.
Electronic signature
The Electronic Commerce and Electronic Signature Act regulates electronic business, which covers business in electronic form through the application of information and communication technologies and the use of electronic signatures in legal transactions. This also includes the electronic operation of judicial, administrative and other procedures, unless provided otherwise by law.
Postal services
The Postal services Act defines the condition and procedures for the provision of postal services, governs the implementation and provison of universal postal services, introduces conditions for access to the public postal network and the issuing of postal stationery, lays down the organisation and operation of the Post and Electronic Communications Agency of the Republic of Slovenia as applying to postal services, sets forth the rights and obligations of providers and users of postal services, and governs other issues relating to postal activities.
